Munich, 6 October 2025 – Xolution Germany GmbH is presenting a fully integrated production line for its patented XO closure technology for the first time at K 2025. At the Ilsemann stand C22 in Hall 12, partners Ilsemann (handling system with integrated visual inspection), Hack (1+1K tool technology) and Engel (injection moulding machine) will demonstrate the complete injection moulding process chain. K 2025 will take place from 8 to 15 October at the Düsseldorf Exhibition Centre.
The exhibition stand shows the entire production process in action: an Engel injection moulding machine manufactures the central component of the XO lid in Hack’s precision tool. An Ilsemann handling robot removes and inspects the components.
‘The beverage industry is moving towards more sustainable and user-friendly packaging,’ says Marc von Rettberg, CEO of Xolution. ‘With the technology we have developed, technical precision components can be manufactured at speeds and performance levels that meet the requirements of the beverage can industry, making the resealable beverage can attractive to a much broader market.’
The XO closure is made of fully recyclable plastic and meets all food safety requirements. Its modular design allows it to be adapted to common can formats. Compared to conventional ring-pull closures, the system offers significant advantages: it is resealable, reduces material usage and extends product shelf life after opening.
A key advantage is its retrofit capability: can fillers do not need to replace their sealing machines or filling lines. Integration is achieved via standardised interfaces, which significantly lowers the barriers to entry for manufacturers. Xolution is thus paving the way for a new generation of beverage packaging that combines sustainability with consumer convenience.
Xolution’s licensing model is aimed at both can manufacturers and beverage brands and enables regional or global use of the technology. The solution can be used for a variety of product categories – from soft drinks and beer to energy drinks and ready-to-drink products. Its broad applicability makes XO technology a sustainable solution for the entire beverage industry.
Trade fair visitors can experience the production line in live demonstrations and talk to experts from Xolution and its mechanical engineering partners. CEO Marc von Rettberg will be available for personal discussions and interviews with trade journalists on 13 and 14 October. I am happy to arrange appointments.
